Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask with Dream Essence Sleep Serum: Review and Giveaway!

Launched in 2002, Dream Essentials, LLC, is a company operating out of North Carolina that specializes in all things sleep! They specialize in the retail sale of sleep masks, eye masks, and eye pillows, but they also carry products such as body pillows, ear plugs, sleep supplements, relaxing and destressing aromatherapy, sunrise clocks, pillow speakers, sound machines, bedtime lights, etc. There is something for everyone that enjoys a peaceful night’s sleep or a moment of blissful relaxation. 

 The Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask is designed to provide optimum comfort and relaxation during sleep. It is the ideal mask for sufferers of sleep apnea who need to use a CPAP machine, because it is one of the few masks designed to fit around the machine comfortably, without straps. The Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask blocks out light, and can also block the cold air flow from a CPAP machine, for sleep apnea users. It is made of 100% cotton lined with Tencel, which is an anti-bacterial fabric. This fabric is designed to be comfortable on even the most sensitive of skin. It is a lightweight, breathable sleep mask that covers your eyes and sits atop the bridge of your nose. The mask measures 4″ x 8″ and weighs 0.6 oz. In order to care for the Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask, you can just hand wash it in cold water and lay it flat to dry.

How does it attach to and stay on your face?

Since the Zeepo Sleep Mask is strapless, it uses FDA-approved, double-sided adhesive strips to attach to your face. These strips are medical grade, hypoallergenic, and latex-free. Each Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask includes two full sheets of disposable double-sided adhesive strips (36), which is enough for 18 night’s worth of sleep. When you run out, you can purchase an additional sheet of 18 strips for just $3.59. Typically, you attach two double-sided adhesive strips, as shown below, to either side of the mask. Pull on one tab to adhere the adhesive strip to the mask, and pull on the other to adhere it to your face. Press firmly and pinch around the bridge of your nose.

The Dream Essence Sleep Serum is another Dream Essentials product, which utilizes aromatherapy to aid in a restful night’s sleep. It contains: lavender, rose, and Roman chamomile oils in a Jojoba base. All you have to do to use the sleep serum is to dab a small amount behind behind your ears, on the back of your neck, and on your head right before drifting off. The Dream Essence Sleep Serum is specially formulated to increase a sense of calm, well-being, and relaxation, which is essential for that deep, rejuvenating sleep that we all seek. This serum is available in a 5ml topical bottle or a 1 fl oz. Pillow and Space spray. One 5ml bottle can be purchased here, on the Dream Essentials website, for $15.95.

I was lucky enough to receive the Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask and the Dream Essence Sleep Serum for the purpose of this review, so that I could share my opinions with you. I have never actually used a sleep mask before, so I was eager to see what a difference this mask would make for me. Some nights I drift off quickly and into a deep sleep, but I have trouble sleeping if I am incredibly anxious, such as the period of time directly before big exams. I tend to toss and turn, and I can’t help but focus on my thoughts. I am not crazy about taking sleep aids, as some are addictive or just plain useless. I was excited about the idea of combining this innovative sleep mask with aromatherapy. I also wanted to let my mom try the mask, since she has sleep apnea and is often uncomfortable with her CPAP machine at night, because it makes strange noises and pinches and irritates her skin.

 

 

I really liked the Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask. I don’t think I would be able to deal with straps around my head, especially since anything pressing (even lightly) on my head tends to give me a headache. This is a good solution for total comfort. The adhesive mostly stuck to my face, but I would definitely recommend washing everything off your face before you go to bed, as it doesn’t stick well to lotion or remnants of makeup. If I moved a lot in the night, it would sometimes fall off, but on an average night, it stayed on. I think the most important part is that it stays attached while you are drifting off to sleep, because once I’m past that mark, I’m good to go. The adhesive didn’t bother me, and I have extremely sensitive skin. I like the fact that it is hypoallergenic. I definitely feel like blocking out all lights in the house was a good sleeping aid. My mom agreed when she borrowed the Zeepo Strapless Sleep Mask — it did fit over her mask, and helped her block out some of the annoyance of the machine. 

The Dream Essence Sleep Serum has a very relaxing blend of oils. It isn’t my favorite scent, but it definitely induces a feeling of comfort. I am not sure if it fully helped me fall asleep on its own, but when I rubbed it over my temples, behind my ears, and on the back of my neck IN ADDITION to wearing the sleep mask, I definitely had a restful night’s sleep. I wasn’t able to test it when I was at my most anxious, unfortunately, but I was able to test it on some nights where I wasn’t falling asleep as quickly as I had hoped. Overall, I would recommend these as a combination if you have mild trouble sleeping due to some kind of anxiety.
