spellbinders paper arts
Spellbinders Paper Arts, LLC, is a company based out of Phoenix, AZ, that was launched in 2003. Spellbinders manufactures a variety of die-cut and embossing machines, as well as a number of different scrapbooking and paper art supplies. Spellbinders recently launched a new line of products by Richard Garay, named the “Celebra’tions Collection“.

Richard Garay is the co-founder and President of Journey Blooms. He has a passion for handmade greeting cards, paper crafts, and event hosting. The Celebra’tions Collection brings Richard’s vision to life, through a series of specially designed papers, inks, dies, embellishments, and stamps. The Celebra’tions Collection makes celebrating easy — there are so many ways to create unique and innovative greetings and announcements. This collection packs a ton of creativity into each beautiful piece! The options are really endless, because there are so many embellishments and paper goods to choose from. On the Spellbinders website, you can find ideas for your next greeting, gift, or even scrapbook layout with a list of Celebra’tions Collection supplies. All of the stamps in this collection are made of photopolymer and have cling technology, so that they stick to clear blocks. The stamps come in a number of different designs. The Celebra’tions Cardstock and Pattern Paper can be purchased in one of many whimsical designs, or in bright, solid colors. The inks in this collection are one of a kind; they dry quickly without residue and do not fade over time. They come in twelve different colors and can be used on virtually any material!

To show you how fun and how easy it is to create unique greetings with the Celebra’tions Collection, the Purex Insiders program was generous enough to send me the supplies to create a “Best Day Ever Treat Bag” and a “Celebrate Party Hat Card”.

The “Best Day Ever Treat Bag” is a special, petite gift bag that has that personal touch. You can fill it with any type of treat, and can further personalize the gift tag. This Treat Bag craft is ideal for creating favors for parties, such as baby showers or birthdays. It is also great to send to  someone who you are trying to congratulate; it would be very cute filled with candy, or even a romantic piece of jewelry. The Best Day Ever Treat Bag uses the following supplies:

  • Whirl White Cardstock
  • Pixie Play Cardstock
  • Build-A-Tag One Die Template
  • Fun Tags Stamp Set
  • Odacious Orange Ink
  • Pretty Plum Ink
  • Pixie Play Ink
  • Linen Thread
  • Foam Squares (by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L)
  • Kraft Paper Bag

All you have to do to create this treat bag is to first trim around the Celebration (pretty plum colored) banner, and then to attach the banner to the Odacious Orange stamped gift tag. Next, you take a foam square and attach the Odacious Orange tag to the Pixie Play Cardstock tag. Then, you fill up the paper bag with a treat and tie it shut with the linen threat. Attach your bags, make a bow, and you’re done!

This little project was so easy that even I could manage it without screwing anything up. That’s saying a lot, because although I love crafts, my mother’s crafting and patience genes must be skipping a generation. I tend to cut things crooked, draw things weird, etc etc. This time I managed to follow the steps and create a really cute bag! If I had a lot of these, I would make favors for a summer party. The Celebra’tions Collection tools are high-quality and easy to work with. I love the style of the tags and the combination of colors.

Next, I created the Celebra’tions “Celebrate Party Hat Card”. This tiny greeting card would be absolutely perfect for an up-scale party, or a little girl’s birthday invitation. I could also see it working inside of a scrapbook, for those of you that like to incorporate 3D embellishments. Again, it was very simple to make and came out really cute. It just requires the following supplies:
  • Whirl White Cardstock
  • Golden Glow Cardstock
  • Cool Caribbean Cardstock
  • Captivating Coral Cardstock
  • Sea Spray Ink
  • Prints
  • Linen Thread
  • Create-a-Cone Die Template
  • Enhanced Banner Die Template
  • Many Words Stamp Set
  • Foam Squares (by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L)
  • Sequins
All you have to do to create the Celebrate Party Hat Card is to first take the blue, Cool Caribbean Cardstock and fold it in half, creating a card. Next, you have to glue the Whirl White Cardstock to the Cool Caribbean Cardstock. Next, you attach the Celebra’tions Prints (pink polka dots) piece to the Whirl White Cardstock. Then, you create your cone by folding the die cut piece. Secure the cone to the polka dot print with foam squares. Next, take your flowers and layer them, making them look three dimensional. Then, add your polka dot piece to the center of the flower with a foam square. Next, make a bow out of the linen thread and put it on top of the cone (the party hat). Using a foam square, attach the flower over the bow to the party hat. Last, add the Celebration banner just poking out from under the flower, using another foam square. You can adhere your sequins to the party hat for a touch of extra glam.

This was only slightly more difficult than the first project, only because my adhesive (glue stick..what can I say, that’s all I had) wasn’t keeping things like my sequins very secure. The foam squares worked great for everything else. My bow was a little off center, but all-in-all, it made a cute and really fast greeting card/invitation. I could see myself making something like this in the future for parties, with the right glue. I think the Spellbinders Celebra’tions Collection has great ideas and beautiful designs and colors to make your next greeting or scrapbook page a little different!
